Li Qun produced the notable piece “Lilies” in 1954. Despite his editorial responsibilities, Li Qun, determined not to forsake his passion for woodcut creation, found solace in a flower shop. There, he purchased his favourite flowers and dedicated his precious spare moments to crafting “Lilies.” Upon its public unveiling, the masterpiece received acclaim, with woodcuts artist Chao Mei praising its embodiment of “pure and noble sentiments”.
