“Early Spring in the Northland” created in 1981 by Li Qun, is considered one of his notable works from the 1980s. It was featured at the 1982 Art Exhibition in Paris, specifically the Spring Salon Exhibition. Li Qun and printmaker Du Hongnian traveled to Heilongjiang in 1980, where they sketched scenes, including red willow bushes along the Huma River. These sketches served as the inspiration for “Early Spring in the Northland,” which was exhibited in Paris the following year.
