Li Qun crafted the woodcut print of “Communal Cultivation” in 1952 to promote the policy of land reform by the Communist Party of China. Communal cultivation referred to the collective farming and management of land by farmers to enhance agricultural production and improve the livelihoods of rural communities. This woodcut print aimed to convey the efforts of the Communist Party in advancing land reform and the impact of communist ideals on rural communities.
